Why did you choose this sketch?
An illustrative idea of how pushing and pulling as a unit can have a complex advantage to our personal desires. The physical world we have been planted on requires us to move through time in different forms of motion in order to grow. Together we are better.
Cartoonist:
Neo M Art
Why did you choose this sketch?
To heal the sad teen through my artwork and also those who go through alot to speak about their problems.
Cartoonist:
Puseletso Motsemedi
Why did you choose this sketch?
My sketch/idea highlights the fact that nature is economical, it wastes nothing as acknowledged by the author Kabelo Sello Duiker (The Quiet Violence Of Dreams) Nature has a way of equilibrating itself. The human hand can both nurture and destroy nature. Global warming is the aftermath of human greed, complacency and a don't care attitude. We cut down earth lungs for our voracious appetite for beef, beautiful furniture, big houses or worse Coca plantations. We know carbon dioxide is bad, we generate methane gas through our waste which we can recycle into green energy. But we worry about monetary costs and politics. The next world war would be sparked by a dwindling water supply.
Cartoonist:
Lesedi Masheane
Why did you choose this sketch?
This cartoon emphasizes the homophobia which is justified by religion (mainly Christianity) as well as the contradictions which exist within the church.
Cartoonist:
Ramaru Ashley
Why did you choose this sketch?
My idea is to realistify any drawing with photoshop and this is something new in south Africa I also want to battle with other graphic designers in order to show our skills
Cartoonist:
Botlhale Aziza Bokaba
Why did you choose this sketch?
My idea is to have members of the marginalized communities holding up, and keeping together the land that people are standing on, and have the people on top try to remove their hands through force.
Cartoonist:
Ashley Thomas
Why did you choose this sketch?
The Covid vaccine is now avaliable for children as young as twelve without their parents' consent.
Cartoonist:
Kirsty Oberholzer
Why did you choose this sketch?
Musk flying over South Africa in his space ship with money coming out of the back instead of flames. He can be seen in the window smiling, counting his money. South Africa is seen below, personified as a starving person or person in need holding a sign asking for help.
Cartoonist:
Botlhale Aziza Bokaba
Why did you choose this sketch?
My idea is to have people who are suffering from food insecurity to be asking for food that's being dropped of by a truck(s) in the background, and then have one or two authoritive figures blocking them. The piles of food are rotting to represent the amount of food thrown out into landfills.
Cartoonist:
Lisa van Sluis
Why did you choose this sketch?
We see a person with a knife in their head. This knife represents mental illness as is written on the blade. We see another person walk by with a knife in their head as well, saying you're not alone. During the pandemic, teenagers and others alike have seen an increase in mental health issues. The problem with this is that sometimes, this is still a topic that not many people like to address and it is a difficult thing to talk about. I myself have struggled with severe depression for almost four years now, but I am one of the lucky people with a lovely support system, and I realize that for some this is not the case. It is therefore my wish for the future that those who struggle with mental health issues, know they are not alone, and that there is always some help available for them.

Musk flying over South Africa in his space ship with money coming out of the back instead of flames. He can be seen in the window smiling, counting his money. South Africa is seen below, personified as a starving person or person in need holding a sign asking for help.

My idea is to have people who are suffering from food insecurity to be asking for food that's being dropped of by a truck(s) in the background, and then have one or two authoritive figures blocking them. The piles of food are rotting to represent the amount of food thrown out into landfills.
